One meaning of the word “Original” would be: new, fresh, inventive.
Another would be: “that returns to the origin”.
In “Musica Para Manejar” (“Music To Drive”) of Felipe Yaluff we are confronted with both. An album that recalls the attitude that old pioneers of electronic music had from the beginnings of it. The will for searching new compositional frontiers propelled by the blessings of the technology provided that days.
Listening to “Musica Para Manejar” (“Music To Drive”) come to mind authors such as Jean Jacques Perrey, Dick Hyman or Herbie Hancock, but this time sum up the background and cultural references that may have a musician in 2011. Felipe Yaluff proposes unique approaches to the dub, breakbeat jazz and classical techno of his own creative and risky spirit. A refreshing drink in the sea of followers who make up the current scene. An album with a foot in the best of the past and the other in the future.
